We are looking for a Private Client Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our Private Client department solicitors.
This role offers a structured induction to our systems and workflows, increasing autonomy, and genuine progression into Case Manager responsibilities.

Location and flexibility
Based at one of our offices in Orpington, Sevenoaks, Gravesend or Biggin Hill, with collaboration across all offices.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our Private Client department solicitors.
- Manage correspondence, legal documents and case files with high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments, meetings and court dates, ensuring efficient time management.
- Prepare court forms and documents.
- Maintain and update client files, ensuring all information is current and accurately recorded.
- Handle client enquiries in a professional and sensitive manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Liaise with courts, other solicitors and professionals as required.
- Assist with billing and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm.
Essential requirements
- Proven experience as a legal secretary, ideally within a Private Client department.
- Strong working knowledge of legal terminology, documents and court procedures.
- Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and legal software.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on client care.
- A high level of discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work well under pressure.
Desirable experience
- Experience of having worked in a Lexcel or similarly accredited firm.
